Denominado Otto (”oído” en lengua griega) este dispositivo “hace que los sonidos ocultos puedan oírse”. El sistema se basa en la vibraciones de los objetos, las cuales son convertidas en sonido por los altavoces.

We designed OTTO (Greek for ‘ear’); a device that makes hidden sounds audible. This is achieved via a thin polymer piezoelectric contact that senses weak vibrations and plays them as a sound through an integrated speaker. OTTO can be positioned on almost any surface through a combination of suction and magnets. By placing several units on different objects, one can select and create a new sonic experience and a form of ambient music appreciation, thereby utilising our space as a multidirectional audio platform.

Después de un tiempo parece que nuestros amigos de Japón han podido finalmente tener en sus manos a la diminuta Asus’s eminently-hackable Eee PC. La nueva laptoc japonesa es aparentemente igual al modelo regular 4G, pero con la notable diferencia de que en este modelo viene incluido Windows XP Home Edition en vez de el usual Linux OS. El costo de la misma de de aproximadamente U$S 468 y esta disponible en los colores blanco y negro.

In and of itself, Pasta & Parmesan measures servings, grates cheese, and grabs a hold of slippery noodles for your perfect pasta plating pleasure. The multitasking utensil, designed by Swedish design firm Transformer, will be made available in stores and on Sagaform’s internet catalog in February/March.

La compañía tecnológica Americana Bug Labs ha desarrollado un sistema en donde los consumidores pueden combinar dispositivos eléctricos y construir sus propios artilugios. Su nombre es BUG y consiste en una base con 4 conectores la cual permite diversas conecciones en sus diferentes lados. Dichas aplicaciones pueden ser utilizadas para conectar GPS, camaras digitales, pantallas LCD, etc.

American technology company Bug Labs has developed a system where consumers combine modular electronic devices to build their own ideal gadge. Called BUG, the system consists of a BUGbase with four connectors so that different elements can simply be snapped onto the sides. Four modules will be available to start with: GPS, digital camera and videocam, touch-sensitive colour LCD screen, and accelerometer and motion sensor.
