Christened the Signterior by its creator, Shanghai-based architect Nobuhiro Nakamura of A-Asterisk, the name is a blend of the words “signage” and “interior.” All of the floors, walls and ceilings on every level within the Chinese structure are painted with helpful markers denoting anything from where the elevator is to various shops. Different colored lines also help people know if they are going they right way, acting as a trail to different parts of the Signterior building.

The Signterior takes up over 47,000 square feet and it is being planned as an office building combined with a shopping mall. It should be finished by September of this year.

Teepee takes its influence from architecture with the shapes, forms, and lines of its design. Konstantin Grcic designed this chair for M2L Collection. An interesting aspect of Teepee is how thin it is. The designer went to great links to create a leather chair where the leather was not “heavy” as it generally appears in normal designs. The seat and back feature thin leather over thermoforming. The result is that these parts of the chair are still flexible providing an important contribution to the chair’s comfort. The half cone at the base of the chair is made of metal covered in leather to lend extra support to the structure.

El diseñador con base en Tokyo, Takashi Sato, ha diseñado una lámpara que sostiene el foco de una forma sumamente sencilla. Basicamente la base, es un estructura de aluminio que plegada forma la lámpara para su posterior funcionamiento.

Tokyo-based designer Takashi Sato has designed a lamp that holds a bulb in place using a tong-like structure. Inspired by “the tong of the kitchen tool,” the aluminium Tongs lamp has a slot in the shade to allow a bulb and cord to be added and held in place by the structure.
