Sin razón ni motivo aparente, Google ha anunciado el lanzamiento de estos pequeños ratones que abogan por cuidar nuestro planeta Tierra. Fabricado con materiales de plástico reciclables, el nuevo periférico cuenta con una resolución de 800 dpi, es inalámbrico y utiliza dos pilas AAA.

Disponible en azul y rojo, hasta el paquete donde viene puede ser reciclado. Su precio es de 19,20 dólares (12 euros) y si quieres optar por tener algo ecológico en casa y no te importa que tenga el logo de Google impreso en el frontal, siempre puede ser una opción aceptable.

The Google Recycled Mini Wireless Mouse is definitely one of the cuter peripherals I have come across, and it adds to the ‘fun’ feeling that the company offers even while at work. This diminutive piece of hardware comes with a Wi-Fi dongle stored on it, and has an 800 dpi resolution while being made out of recycled plastic. It will come in blue or red colors, and the $19.20 mouse even ships in recycled packaging to keep those green advocates quiet. Perfect in keeping in line with the company’s “Do no evil” mantra.

Remade in italy es una iniciativa para mostrar los diseños que prueban la viabilidad de usar los materiales reciclados. Para la semana del diseño de Milano, el ‘Remade in italy’, mostro trabajos exhibidos en la torre branca de Milan, junto con los trabajos de iniciativas similares en Chile, Argentina y Portugal. Los trabajos demuestrarón la capacidad de los diseños de dar nueva vida a las viejas cosas y crear objetos sostenibles y funcionales.

Remade in italy is an initiative to showcase designs which prove the viability of using recycled materials. For milan design week, ‘remade in italy’ displayed works at milan’s torre branca along with the work of similar initiatives in chile, argentina and portugal. The works on show demonstrated design’s ability to give new life to old things and create objects which are both sustainable and functional.

Made specifically for Method from a combination of paper and bamboo the new brown packaging has an attractive unfinished quality to it - totally unique next to other products packaged in clear clamshells with bright labeling.

The packaging has a minimal quality to it that alone provides it a creative advantage - you want to look at the packaging, touch it and find out what is in it.

The packaging is both compostable and recyclable (mixed paper) and its creation has an interesting story behind it.

The idea for the new design came out of a “Design Safari” a regular creative departure held internally among Method staff. At the safaris staff members share examples of packaging or creative design they like and discuss it with their colleagues.

The new Omop starter kit packaging is compartmentalized. Everything has its own place in a logical easy to open format (unlike many clamshells).

Este nuevo concepto de Whirpool es una tentativa de abordar la perdida de energía y del recurso en la cocina media. ¿Cuántas veces usted ha calentado algo en el horno y después se ha preguntado que se puede hacer con el calor que queda dentro? Ok, tal ves eso sea mi culpa ecológica, pero este nuevo concepto esta diseñado para ser un 70% eficiente que las cocinas estándares y 24% más baratas en funcionar.

Inspirado, al parecer en los ciclos naturales del ecosistema, el sistema contiene el calor de la bomba de los refrigerator y lo utiliza para calentar el lavaplatos. El 60% del agua se reutiliza también y el refrigerador en sí mismo se divide en compartimientos para no derrochar tanto aire frío hacia fuera cuando usted abre la puerta.

This new Whirlpool concept is an attempt to tackle some of the rampant energy and resource wasting that goes on in the average kitchen. How many times have you heated something up in the oven, and then wondered whether anything useful can be done with the spare heat once you’ve finished cooking? Ok, maybe that’s just my eco-guiltiness, but this new concept is designed to be 70% more energy efficient than standard kitchens and 24% cheaper to run.

Apparently inspired by natural ecosystem cycles, the system grabs heat from the refrigerator’s pump and uses it to warm the dishwasher. 60% of the water is reused as well, and the fridge itself is compartmentalized into drawers, so you don’t spill as much cold air out when you open it.

The Brelli es el nombre de este ingenioso paraguas que es completamente degradable en 18 a 24 meses (aunque seria mejor nunca arrojarlo a la basura!). Este particular paraguas es producido en dos diferentes tamaños: 37 y 52 hinches. Tanto sea para la lluvia o para protegernos del sol, esperamos que la gente considere este “sustentable diseño” como un accesorio necesario y con estilo.

The Brelli will apparently completely biodegrade in 18 to 24 months (though we would hope that there would be no need to dispose of it!). This artfully constructed umbrella is made in two sizes, a stow away 37″ diameter and a sidewalk parading 52″ diameter. El iPhone no es solamente un buen dispositivo para llamar o ver contenidos multimedia, ya que el software Current State, le posibilita activar y desactivar de forma remota los toma corrientes. Además incluye la característica “hotspots”, que no es otra cosa que mostrar el consumo que está teniendo en tiempo real cada elemento que está conectado en su hogar. De esta forma se puede ahorrar mucha electricidad y ayudar el ecosistema. Lo único malo de todo esto, es que es un concepto a desarrollar. ¿ Abra alguien afuera suficientemente brillante para poder desarrollar este programa?
